BioHealthTech, Inc. provides biopharmaceutical consulting and innovation services. Dr. Robert Leong is its founder and principal.
Dr. Leong is a pharmaceutical physician with more than 18 years of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, managing and directing clinical trials. In 1996, he started working at ICON Clinical Research as a medical monitor. From there, he moved to Elan Pharmaceuticals, Ionis (formerly Isis) Pharmaceuticals, and Affymax. His last permanent position was as Senior Director of Clinical Development at Fibrogen in San Francisco.
Since 2013, Dr. Leong has worked as an independent industry consultant for a number of small biotechnology companies. He focuses on clinical issues and strategies for therapeutic product development, as well as operational issues in clinical development programs.
Dr. Leong is a medical graduate of Trinity College, University of Dublin, Ireland. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCP). He completed his medical training at St. James's Hospital, Dublin, the largest teaching hospital in Ireland, and has worked in internal and geriatric medicine at various hospitals in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
BioHealthTech, Inc. is based in Redwood City, in the heart of the San Francisco bay area. Dr. Leong enjoys computer programming in his spare time, and is a member of American Mensa.
